Boy Kills Teen Lover, Commits Suicide

The incident is said to have taken place last week Saturday in Kopong. It is said that the boy’s parents found him hanging from the rafters of his house at their home while his girlfriend’s lifeless body was soaked in blood on the floor in the wee hours of September 2, 2017.

According to information passed to The Monitor the two allegedly had a misunderstanding and were seen arguing at one of the bars in the village before leaving together when the bar closed. It is said that the boy, who is a Form 5 leaver, used a sharp object to slit the girl’s throat before committing suicide.

“They had a misunderstanding at the bar, but they left together when the bar closed. Next morning we heard that the two were found naked and dead at the boy’s parents’ home. The two had a relationship,” claimed the source. Mogoditshane police station commander, Superintendent Agreement Mapeu confirmed the incident in a telephone interview.

“It is indeed true that such an incident happened in Kopong at the early hours of September 2, 2017 at 2am. An 18-year-old committed suicide after killing his 15-year-old lover. The two were certified dead by doctors upon arrival at the hospital,” Mapeu said.

Mapeu could not reveal the names of the deceased, but said the girl was a Form 2 student at Kopong Junior Secondary School. He agreed that the two were said to be in a relationship. According to the police, this is the second similar incident that happened in Kopong this year.
