The live music show will be held at Cresta Botsalo Hotel in Palapye on New Year’s Eve.

Tomeletso Sereetsi of Sereetsi and The Natives told Showbiz that they are doing it bigger this year, which is no wonder they have gone international.

“The idea is to grow the festival in five years to be a go-to New Year’s Eve fest in Southern Africa,” he said.  Sereetsi said they also want Goldies to be a festival where discerning music lovers can discover music from other countries that they have not heard before and that is why they brought Sakala.

“We will have a VIP section this year,” he added. Sereetsi spoke in an earlier interview that the show could bring holidaymakers to Palapye and act as a tourist attraction.

“Palapye is a central place so people can come from as far as Gaborone and Francistown,” he said.  Despite the fact that Tuku will be among the big artists on the lineup, Sereetsi and The Natives will be the headline act alongside local jazz saxophonist, Lister Boleseng.  It will be the second event after hosting the festival last year and it managed to offer a priceless experience to bid 2016 farewell.

Even though Sereetsi had admitted that the inaugural event was not that successful, he said he was determined to make it even bigger this year hence the rich lineup of artists. Normal tickets are sold at P250 while VIP tickets cost P600 and they are sold at WebTickets.
