Jojo releases sophomore album

The 28-year-old artist’s album has been long overdue with her management previously announcing that the album was ready and would  be released in the middle of this year.

“This album took long to come out because I have been working with different producers trying to come up with some diverse high quality content. Also there was a lot to do with administrative and technicalities,” Jojo said in an interview. On the album she worked with a variety of producers such as Suffocate, Dr Tawanda, Bullet Ketshabile, Chase Mabutho and Deril Councilor. As part of the administrative team she had engaged King Chaoke media.

Explaining the album Bo Rra Setori she said the sound is much more mature compared to her debut album Mpatiseng that saw her tour regionally. She stated that the new album is mature because in her first offering she was still young and still experimenting with sound.

“Since I managed to penetrate into the regional scene with my debut album the goal is to have this new one reach the international stage through sales. My team is focusing on sales more than performances, we want to sell double platinum both physical and soft copies”.

A few weeks ago Jojo’s management stated that they are working on distributing the album to diplomats, high officials at high price with companies buying in bulk whereas for an ordinary individual it will be sold at a normal price.

Prior to the release of the album, Jojo’s technical manager Gilbert Seagile stated that before the new album gets into the shelves, President Ian Khama will have to bless the album by being the first person to purchase it at a price of P2,500. Currently they are in talks with the Office of the President (OP). Dates for the official launch are yet to be announced.
