BSA, BoFiNet open talks over deal renewal

The two signed a three-year deal in 2016, with BoFiNet sponsoring softball for P1.7 million.
Their initial involvement was in 2014, where BoFiNet sponsored for P1.7 million. Next season, which finishes in March, marks the end of what has been a successful union. BSA and BoFiNet have already opened talks to renew the relationship. BSA president, Tirelo Mukokomani said negotiations are progressing well. “Negotiations have started and are at relatively advanced stage. That is all we can say for now,” Mukokomani said.
He hailed their relationship with BoFiNet and said he is hopeful a new deal will be struck. He said they have enjoyed their partnership with BoFiNet through the smooth running of the league, which is a testament of a fruitful relationship.
He said, however, their challenge has been development, an area in which the sponsor has shown interest in. “You can’t ask for a better partner in any sporting code. BoFiNet have gone beyond the sponsorship to become partners of softball. They had even escalated their assistance to the national teams.”
“They have been involved at the right pace, in good and bad times. They are much interested in youth development and that is one area we need to pull up our socks on. Otherwise we have been running a smooth league and we are hopeful this partnership will continue.” Meanwhile, the BoFiNet league wheels will start moving with a clash of the northern zone sides in Serowe on October 21. The southern zone league is billed to start on October 28 in Lobatse.
The league was launched back in September during the 2016/2017 BSA season awards. BSA spokesperson, Kelebogile Seitei said the schedule is out and clubs are ready to take to the mound.
“The fixtures are out. The teams in the north are starting in a week’s time in Serowe and in the South their league starts in the last Saturday of the month in Lobatse,” she said.
Seven teams, three women and four men’s teams are scheduled to clash in Serowe. Raptures (women) welcome northern zone powerhouse, Rail Giants and Scramblers. Raptures men will also battle it out against Rail Giants, Scramblers and neighbours Motlakase.
