Golf members threaten to kick out president

GCC captain, Martin Mogomela said they had written a letter to Mushango reminding him to pay his subscription but he did not bother to pay. He said they could not go further and try to force his hand to pay. Mogomela said paying subscription fees is an individual’s decision and GCC members are aware that the membership period starts from July ending in June the following year.

“We always give extensions like we did in this case, but unfortunately Mushango and other members decided not to subscribe. To us, it was an indication that they were not interested to continue as our members. We could not force them to subscribe,” Mogomela said.

He said after failure to subscribe, Mushango is no longer a member of the GCC, which means he cannot continue as BGU president. Mushango, however dismissed the claims, and said it was a move by those bent on removing him, who are unaware of procedure. He said what Mogomela is saying is just wishful thinking. He said the issue was over how much he should pay, since the club’s lease with the BGU expires in six months’ time.

“They are drinking poison thinking I would die. I am refusing to pay the full amount of the subscription,” he said. Mushango argued that he does not want to subscribe the full amount and he has informed the GCC leadership. “Ask them how many people have not subscribed and where they are. GCC leadership is blinded by greed and hatred. You will see action that BGU will take against those people when I come back to Gaborone,” Mushango said.
