Vee�s new video is more than just luxury cars and models

Champion music video was launched to the media in August but it was only released to the public recently and it has already received more than 10, 000 views in the first five days. The video, which cost a quarter of a million pula is about more than just funky fashion and luxury cars. The video shot by UPROOTED MEDIA paints Letlhale hitmaker’s success story from the time he shot Ola Kasi music video in the dusty streets of Old Naledi to a fancy mansion in Johannesburg.
Vee Mampeezy, who is now signed under Universal Music Group’s transformation, from his previous music videos like Taku Taku to the super high quality Champion video shows that the Metro FM award winner has upped the game to even greater heights and his triumph is written all over the video.
Speaking of success, for a moment there it seemed as if the video was shot somewhere in a far away country and the model appearing inside the Maserati gives the viewer a suggestion that it is one of those new school rappers. But it is Vee Mampeezy and he has proven that he is up there in the international stage alongside other African giants like Davido, Cassper Nyovest just to mention but a few.
If it were the old Vee we would have seen his dancer, Coming Soon jumping into the shot but gone are those days, he had now featured South African celebrities once more like he did previously in the I do music video. Even though he is always with his dance crew during his performances, this time he snubbed them to include models and celebrities like Somizi, DJ Bucks, Khuli Chana and Dr Malinga. While many may question Vee Mampeezy’s loyalty to the local music industry, the video shows that he has now entered a bigger and better phase of his career. The local music industry has laid the foundation for his commercial success and it is now his time to chase even larger international recognition and Champion video guides the track.
Now as his video seeks more airplay on Trace Urban, Trace Africa and Channel O, the story of a teenager from St. Joseph’s College has now been carved into a legend.
Although he has not yet arrived at the level of exiting private planes, he is slowly getting there. The second part of it is a short video of the lyrically controversial single Waba Atsile and it was mainly shot in the night and even though it does not show bikini-clad women, Vee’s ‘I made it’ statement is reinforced as he sings while surrounded by the beautiful women.
He sings from the comfort of the same mansion and in the background is a pool in the middle of the lawn. The concept of the video definitely falls in line with what the star has recently expressed that Jesus is part of his life and his story began more than a decade ago and Champion is just something else altogether.
