Motlhasedi Scoops Mrs Botswana Title

Motlhasedi, who competed against other beautiful and talented married women, was crowned Mrs Botswana a minute before 12 midnight after proving that she was not only a pretty face but a beauty with brains. In the top six finalists, Motlhasedi was asked what word she would share with women and families.
“Sadly, there is a great perseverance in societies and therefore we tend to forget what it means to have solidarity in our families and so forth. As women, what we do in our families is important,” she answered.
In the top three questions, she was asked why she entered that competition and what were the challenges and sacrifices she went through to ensure that she stays in the competition. Her response was that Mrs Botswana supported good marriage. She explained that she advocates good marriage, good families and said she wants their children to grow in good families.
“The challenge I faced is that I stay in Selebi-Phikwe. As you all know since the BCL Mine closed, many families were negatively affected. Being a sole breadwinner you would imagine how stretched my pocket is but due to passion, I dedicated my time and money to the pageant. I had to travel twice a month to Gaborone. Whatever the outcome will be, either good or bad I will welcome it,” she said.
Norma Osi scooped the first princess position after impressing the judges with her intelligence. When asked why she entered the beauty pageant and the challenges and sacrifices she made during her preparations for the pageant, she said when she was young she has always been passionate about pageants. She said growing up, she entered many beauty pageants and never made it.
“I thought that my dream to enter beauty pageants was over since I am married and have two children. This pageant has restored my hope. However, it was not an easy road for me as I walked and designed my dress through financial constrains as I am unemployed. It is very tough depending on the sole breadwinner. I have also left my four-months-old baby at home a couple of times including today,” she said.
The second princess Olebile Mozila answered the same question saying that she was passionate about pageants. She said because of stereotypes around beauty pageants, Mrs Botswana proved that married women were also hot and could bring change to the nation.
However, all the contestants looked amazing and hot in their beautifully designed evening gowns. They proved that married women were sophisticated and remarkable. The pageant started off with Magadi introductory parade where the contestants looked stunning on their German print attire and blue megagolwane. In the hot mama dance, the ladies showed off their beautiful bodies in their short pants and t-shirts.
The ladies also displayed different traditional house chores wearing traditional leather attire. Amantle Brown and Jujuboy also put up an outstanding performance, which won the revellers’ hearts.
The children’s parade also spiced things up as the young talented upcoming queens showcased beautiful moves. New Era College, Shanaz Herbal, Belleseabo Beauty, Keno Custom Suits, Citizen Design and Game Changers sponsored the event.
