According to Habana, a lot of people in Matobo and surroundings are not willing to register for adult education citing busy schedule.

The education officer encouraged the villagers to find time within their busy schedule to attend school adding that they will not regret their move.

“This village has long been provided with an adult educator but only a few people have turned up for the lessons. Please register in large numbers so that you can acquire the knowledge that can help you tackle challenges of 21st century and other life dynamics,” he said. Habana added that adult education could help those who undertake it to acquire new skills to help boost their careers.

He further said adult education could help parents to effectively help their children with their schoolwork, which could lead to performance improvement.

Mpiti school head Dikgang Morewa also encouraged adults to register for adult education, saying it could effectively contribute to the education of the children if they are also educated.

Adult education in Botswana is meant to offer formal education to Batswana who did not get the opportunity to do so during school going ages. It is also meant to give those who did not do well in the past an opportunity to improve their results.
