The first edition of the show was held in Gaborone earlier in the year.

The second edition held recently attracted a full house of auto parts manufacturers who deal with Motovac and the consumers of the products.

About 18 manufacturing companies of spare parts and other automotive products both operating locally and internationally showcased at the show.

Motovac group sales director, Samir Patel said as the middleman they reckon bringing the manufacturers and consumers together is ideal to promote relationships and the use of quality products.

“Motovac is an intermediary between both the suppliers and the consumers and we see bringing them together once in a while as a way to promote relationships as well as promote quality awareness to the end users,” he said when opening the event.

The city mayor, Silvia Muzila applauded the automotive company for exposing their operatives to the consumers.

“I knew a little about the products I am using from Motovac before this activity but now I am enlightened and I believe this activity has touched other customers in the same way. This is very commendable by Motovac because it gives insights about what we are consuming and it promotes transparency in the companies’ operations,” she said.

Muzila said the event also brought vibrancy to the city that is still reeling from the business meltdown due to the closure of the mines.

National sales manager at GUD Holdings, Richard Harris said the manufacturers of GUD Filters also commend Motovac for the opportunity to meet their end users as it presents opportunities for feedback and continued growth.

“Through meeting with clients we have grown. We have been partners with Motovac for 34 years now and the company is growing through this partnership.

“Kitting is one of our new ventures; we have launched 16 fitter kits and we are expecting to grow the number before the end of year and it is thanks to this relationship and these fora.”

Motovac started in Lobatse in 1983 and has an employ of over 1,000 locals in their 20 branches across the country.

Motovac is one of the largest importers and distributors of automotive spare parts in Botswana and has grown into the neighbouring countries.

The company provides a wide range of automotive spare parts and quality customer service to the wholesale, retail and government markets.
