Mogwadi not startled by false start

He took over from Maitumelo Letlamoreng in May last year. Since then he had been in charge of the side for the past nine league outings, five from last season.
In the nine games Police managed a single win, two draws and six losses. The former league winner with the law enforcers is still struggling to get the side kicking.
In four league-opening games they played thus far they lost twice, won one and drew one. Police edged Gilport Lions 1-0 in the opening game. They suffered 4-1 to Miscellaneous and 2-0 to Township Rollers. They escaped with a 1-1 draw against TAFIC on Tuesday night.
Police displayed an uninspiring performance in the encounter but Mogwadi was not bothered. After the game he said they are on course to returning to winning ways. He said the worst result they could get was a draw and they are happy to have achieved it.
“We haven’t started well but it is not a crisis. The players are still confident and I am also confident,” he said. “We are still there. We are going to Gunners and we will work harder. I believe we will get maximum points in the next game and get our season underway.”
TAFIC wasted two glorious chances in the uneventful first half against Police. They piled pressure on Police in the opening minutes of the second half and within five minutes they had broken the deadlock.
The speedy Lungisani Fanyana who was constantly becoming a problem for Police defence pounced into a long pass, brushed past Kagiso Dithebe and beat the goalkeeper to the far post.
The home side continued piling pressure on the visitors but failed to make their attacks count with Police hopelessly lost in the game.
The introduction of David Makakaba and Uyapo Seleka close to the hour mark brought Police back into the game. They started building patiently with a short passing game that tilted the game.
They were rewarded with a scrappy goal in the 80th minute when TAFIC goalkeeper collided with his defender after a miscommunication and Hedrick Moyo headed into the empty net. “We could not afford to lose another game and we are happy to get ourselves back. We played according to our strategy,” Mogwadi said.
TAFIC coach, Elias Chinyemba said it was two points lost for them. “I am very disappointed, we were on top of the game. We created well and failed to take our chances. At the end we conceded a silly goal and lost two points.”
