Miss Isago billed for next month

Speaking during the unveiling of the 12 finalists for the Miss Isago on Saturday, the project coordinator Game Monica Chabaditsile said while the intention is to raise funds for a struggling football club in division three league, the annual contest will undertake boot camps to unearth talent.

“We believe that we are doing so many things in a one initiative because while the team is benefiting from these funds, our pageant would also benefit a lot when moving forward in their pageant career. It will also build their profiles and as well as motivating their passion in industry,” Chabaditsile said.

She said the November 4 crowning of the first Miss Isago queen.

The funds raised from the event, Chabaditsile said, would be used to build hostels and provide transport for the team.

“We want to pull more youth in sport because sport plays a very crucial role in the moral development of a person. The club has under 13, 17 and 21 players,” she added.

Chabaditsile explained that they had auditions in Kanye, Jwaneng, Lobatse, Gaborone, and hosted fashion shows and boot camps to arrive at the 12 finalists who will be battling it out for the crown.

The finalist are Gaone Karema, Tshiamo Gaboitatolwe, Neo Sengalo, Letty Mothibedi, Thato Ntshabelang, Boitumelo Marera, Godiraone Kgautlhe, Tshepiso Ntesang, Katlego Kebinaefe, Kefilwe Rantleru, Tumelo Nthaka and Bontle Kokeletso.

The 2017-2018 Miss Independence Botswana Annita Tlagae graced the event and gave the finalists a word of encouragement. She talked about growth and challenges that come with beauty pageant competitions.

“They are lot of challenges that a pageant can face along the way while trying to build her profile, that is why today I would encourage all the participants to believe that the competition is between themselves not other competitors,” she said.

Tlagae said that she expects to see them walking with pride and confidence during the grand finale and encouraged them to behave like queens in the society after and before the competition to protect their integrity.
