The European producers will be reviewing the production with the hope that they might export it into the European market. The production is scheduled to play from Wednesday till Saturday. The production was scheduled to run early this year but due to lack of funds and resources it was put on hold.

“Having them around during this playing of the production might see the production touring Europe and the world for a while just like how Sarafina did; it had international theatre producers reviewing it and it was exported,” said the production director Socca Moruakgomo who was part of the Sarafina production in the late 80 and 90s that toured USA for close to five years.

Moruakgomo expressed his excitement due to the presence of these theatre producers indicating that if the Europe tour succeeds, it will change a lot of people’s lives within the cast members looking at the fact that most of them are young and upcoming entertainers.

“I am happy to have used my international connections to have the German producers come and review the production. This time around the production will not only be the musical but it will be a dialogue play,” Moruakgomo said.

The dialogue play of Moratiwa was only played once in the country during its launch in September last year and then later staged in South Africa. Moruakgomo said after the Gaborone performance at Maitisong Theatre, he will work on a national tour for the production.

Meanwhile Moruakgomo is working on producing a Moratiwa musical production magazine, which will have a more insightful description of the play. The theatrical ensemble comprises of semi seasoned theatre artists that were part of the target 20,000 who underwent short courses in live performances at a local tertiary institution.
