In an interview, Botsalo Cresta guest relations officer, Larona Seditse said this will be the third time they hold such an event which is aimed at promoting local artists as well as giving exposure to the upcoming artists in Palapye and the surrounding places who at times are at a disadvantage in growing their craft due to limited resources.

“This is a promotion we started this year as Botsalo Cresta to help give exposure to the upcoming artists here in which we will bring at least one well known musician to cultivate and empower the up coming ones whom we fill since they are located in the village, sometimes they don’t gain much exposure as compared to the urban based ones,” he said. He added that this event is to also promote the entertainment vibe of the village, which has since enjoyed rapid growth in the past years.

He said the reason why they brought Sereetsi & The Natives is because they are a renowned jazz band hence not only will they entertain the patrons but as well motivate the upcoming artists to also strive in the industry.

“Moreover we host the artists because Botsalo Cresta is a well known place which attracts many patrons therefore by providing them with the venue it goes a long way in showcasing their craft for exposure,” he said. The line-up includes Rittar, the songstress behind the hit song, Gosiame that took the country last year by storm, Serena Malaika (poetry), DJ Big B, and the new upcoming Palapye artists who include DJ Tmash, DJ Riccky, Lizkid, Daniel Carvi & MC Iceberg.

According to Seditse, the event will be family oriented as it will accommodate kids as well with several activities, which include activities such as jumping castles. Moreover there will be a huge special with the menu and happy hour between 7pm and 8pm.

“The event will start at 12 noon till late and we expect a large crowd since the last edition which was last month had a positive turn-up, indicating that although it is something new patrons are warming up to it. When we started two months back we held the event each and every last Sunday of the month but in December we will be holding it every Sunday to prelude the festive vibe,” added Seditse.
