The Pilane team is supposed to appear before UDC NEC today, but wants the hearing(s) to take place in September when they will all be available.

Mmegi has learnt that while the Ndaba Gaolathe faction appeared yesterday, the Pilane group wants its leader, who is currently out of the country, to be present during the appearances, hence the request for deferment.

Secretary general, Gilbert Mangole has confirmed their request saying that they indeed wrote to the UDC NEC. “We have written to the UDC NEC requesting that our hearing be held during the beginning of September or mid of that month.  Some NEC members are not in the country.

Our intention is to make submissions to the UDC NEC meeting when we are all in attendance,” Mangole said yesterday. Mangole said their intention is to honour UDC NEC meetings and give their side of the story.

But  UDC secretary general, Moeti Mohwasa said he was not aware that the Pilane team had commnicated such a request to UDC NEC. “Maybe the letter is at UDC office. I can only comment after I know the details of the letter,” Mohwasa said.

Last week, Gaolathe team wrote: “We shared with the UDC our view that this matter should be resolved by August 31, 2017 to curb the growing uncertainty and anxiety among the multitudes of our supporters. The risk of losing our supporters is a real concern and danger to the opposition prospects of winning power in 2019”.
