The one-stop shop app, which is downloaded for free, offers platforms for advertising, online shopping, integration, live streaming, mobile ticketing as well as business listings. Gaborone App allows people to search for listed companies, read news, find events and do online shopping.

According to Sepapane, as an information technology graduate, he decided to create this app after realising that accessing information about what is happening in Gaborone was difficult. “Despite that, the world is now embracing technology as part of their daily lives. I realised that it was quite a hassle to get information about the city, which then motivated us to bridge the gap and create an app that can do so,” he said. The app offers different listing subscription services to market and sell their products, which are grouped into relevant search categories that includes entertainment, restaurants, accommodation, education, media, firms, car dealer, shopping, transportation, financial, business services, agencies, health services, property and network services.

The listing subscriptions allow companies to select their package of choice, which ranges from bronze, silver and gold.

In addition, Sepapane said that the app can also send instant notification messaging to all users and allows them to give feedback about the app.

“When we developed it, we wanted it to feature videos, images, search directory, GPS just to mention a few. The app also allows people an opportunity to give us feedback which would also give us information about the most viewed and where to improve,” he said.

According to Sepapane, companies need to select a subscription, which will enable one to upload their profile and content depending on their subscription. Moving forward, he said that they want to have the app as part of the Samsung mobile phone, noting that Samsung is currently endorsing the app.

Further, he urged IT graduates to dream big and follow their dreams by coming up with innovative apps that can bring change.

“The world is moving into digital technology, which brings in huge opportunities for the information technology graduates. All they need to do is to untap the industry and come up with innovative solutions,” he said.
