When giving a motivational speech during a prize-giving ceremony at Molebatsi Primary School on Friday. Nkgetse, who is also the school patron, said that all of the three stakeholders have their responsibilities in every child’s education. Molebatsi Primary School is located in Majwaneng village in the Tswapong area.

He said that teachers’ responsibility is to guide and teach learners while parents on the other hand must provide resources and pay school fees as well as following up on their home works. He said learners on the other hand must know that they are the main stakeholders. “Each of the three stakeholders has a responsibility to take and make sure that it is done. Students who are the major stakeholders must do their work, which is learning and make a better future for themselves, the community and the government.

“All this can’t happen if we don’t take part, so I urge you children to make the right choices everyday while still young for the betterment of your future. You will be facing challenges in future so work hard, take ownership and listen to your parents and teachers,” said Nkgetse.

The school patron urged pupils to refrain from relationships which can destroy their studies saying the country needs more educated people. He added that the market is open hence it is up to children to work hard and see where they fit. He said that life is in their hands, saying if they don’t take things serious while still young they will regret and blame some people. He added, “you will be forgetting to point a finger at yourselves not asking yourselves what the impact you had in bettering your future.”

Security Systems had adopted Molebatsi School since 2013 and they had been sponsoring all the school’s prize-giving ceremonies. They sponsored the 2017 prize-giving ceremony to the tune of P15 000. According to the school management, ever since the adoption, the school has seen improvement in their PSLE results. In 2012, the school got 59.9%, 2013 66% while in 2014 they did 69%. They increased to 85.2% in 2015, and 2016 they did 80.8% pass respectively.Since the five years’ contract is coming to an end, Nkgetse reminded the school management and village leadership that it was up to them to come up with a way forward.

He said marriage is a contract and each contract has the beginning, ups and downs and can also end. He therefore said there is need for introspection on their journey and see if it would be necessary to extend the contract. He said that his company is more than willing to support the children, thereby giving back to the community as it is their duty. Nkgetse also urged the other stakeholders (companies) to come on board and assist the school.

In response, a representative from the Principal Education Office in the Ministry of Basic Education, Susan Thitoyamore pleaded with Nkgetse to extend his contract with the school saying that amongst 37 primary schools in the PAA district, Molebatsi was lucky to have been sponsored.

She said it is common knowledge that private companies are after profit. She therefore applauded Security Systems for their sterling job in contributing to the development of children.
