The Zambian was responsible for the promotion of Orapa United to top-flight football. He led the Boteti side in the First Division and left a season later when they got promotion. He also coached Motlakase Power Dynamos.

Changwe will unite with his countrymen and marksman, Christopher Musonda who joins the team from Jwaneng Galaxy. The lanky striker was also in the books of Nico United. The club’s interim chairperson, Rebagamang Sekgekge said the arrival of the new members is testament to their ambitions this season. He said they have brought in skill, speed, experience and a robust defence to fill in the gaps.

He said contrary to reports, they have not released 12 players but six. The other six players were out of contract and chose not to return.

He said they signed five players from Premiership teams and the other five from First Division sides.  He could not reveal details as the paperwork has not been finalised.

He said although they have so much respect for the new coach they still want him to prove his mettle before they commit to a long-term contract. Changwe is expected to start his duties as soon as he receives his work permit.

“I am happy to announce that we have signed Dominic Changwe on a 12-month contract. We believe he is the right man to take the club to the Premiership. He has done it before with Orapa (United) and with necessary support he can do it with us,” he said.

“We must thank our sponsor BotAsh (Botswana Soda Ash Mine) for their continued support and this is the time we should give them the benefits of their support.”

Sekgekge said the troubles that have been reported recently surrounding the affairs of the club have been addressed and are a thing of the past. He said those who stayed in power for too long and were reluctant to relinquish their positions caused the misunderstandings.

“The problem was inevitable, it’s football politics. We stayed a long time without (holding) an elective annual general meeting and that was the cause of all the troubles. Now we have arranged that the AGM be held annually as the laws of the game stipulate. I can ascertain that our house is in order, and transparency and good governance will take us to the Premiership,” he said.
