Mooketsi retains BOFUS chair

Mooketsi emerged the winner at BOFUS elective congress held at Majestic Five hotel over the weekend. This will be his second term at the helm of BOFUS.
An elated Mooketsi said he felt humbled to be given another chance to head the scheme.
“I highly receive yet again to be your servant and grateful of the trust you continue to bestow upon me to lead you. I therefore promise, together with my team, to continue making our funeral scheme one of the best. I am committed, together with my new committee, to deliver on the mandate of the union,” he said.
He said that like any other schemes they would encounter challenges, therefore it was up to them that they work as a team to drive their scheme. Mooketsi further promised to listen to other leaders within the structure in striving to better BOFUS.
Old committee members but one were returned. Ontuetse Gotsileng stood unopposed for the deputy chairperson, as did Samuel Aboneng for treasurer and Thuso Nkate for secretary general.
Mika Busang, who was also the incumbent going into the elections, trounced Moshe Molelowatladi by 144 votes against 122 for the position of recruitment and retention officer.
Also retaining his position was the publicity secretary, Oreeditse Nyatso garnering an impressive 186 votes against Abednico Tshambane’s 81.
The only change was that of secretary for gender and safety, which was held by Letlhogonolo Palalane, who did not contest.
The position went to Gosaboelweng Moteu with 124 votes against Keakile Moeti and Gaogalalwe Gaokwale with 104 and 40 respectively.
Closing the congress, BOSETU president, Wingston Radikolo, who is also BOFUS’ Board member thanked the delegates for the smooth elections, noting that they were very clean with no traces of propaganda.
He said his wish was to see the same style being used during the motherbody union, BOSETU elections.
“The results of these elections are a clear indication that there is true leadership within BOFUS dedicated and committed in driving the scheme, hence the reason why most of the positions were retained by the incumbent officers.
May you continue to work as a team in ensuring the success of BOFUS,” Radikolo said.
