The team, comprising mostly youth, held a praise and worship night dubbed Total Dominion Night of Praise at Baobab Primary in Gaborone recently. The legends that received the appreciation awards include Phempheretlhe Pheto, Mmereki Marakakgoro, Mpho Nakedi, Otlogetswe Mosekwa, Tshepo Lesole and others.

In an interview, a member of the Praise and Worship, Lazarus Kajane he said they recognised their gospel legends because they dedicated their lives to the local gospel industry.

“We grew up listening to those artists and their music has inspired us to become Christians. Those songs have not only positively affected us but they had touched so many lives with their music. We wanted to thank them for dedicating their lives, spreading gospel through their God given talents. We want them to know that we appreciate, are proud and acknowledge their efforts to change, heal and touch lives with their music,” the former My Star contestant said.

Total Dominion Night of Praise was also aimed at raising funds for the praise and worship choir. The event was also meant to weigh the choir’s preparedness to record their own first live album, which will be recorded next year.

Meanwhile, the choir blew the auditorium away with its beautiful hymns from the different types of music genres in the form of gospel such as American style gospel, hip-hop, African and disco like gospels. Its main objective was to accommodate and attract different people from different walks of live with different tastes of music.

Some of South Africa’s gospel artists such as Indivhuwa Matumba, Willian Sejake, Bongi and Collin graced the event. The South African stars came to support and motivate ACI praise and worship choir. The choir comprises of 30 young men and women.
