Percy Jax told Showbiz that these days the Hip Hop scene is dominated by trap music therefore he decided to follow his own route with his new single, CMFD. “The single is called CMFD and it stands for Chasing My Dreams.
It focuses on the struggle with Hip Hop, the media and penetrating the market,” he said.
The upcoming artist said he comes with a different trait compared to other artists who brag a lot in their lyrics.
He said he grew up listening to motswako, but decided not to take that route since he believes the genre is going to wear out eventually. He said he would maintain the same integrity in his songs.
“I grew up listening to Hip Hop and I believe it is through this genre where I get the chance to express myself as a creative,” he said. He was quick to point out that the kind of Hip Hop he is doing has different genres in it including jazz, country and soul. He said his upcoming EP will contain six tracks and he has started engaging other vocalists.
Percy Jax said the latest single was produced by Dollar Game and it falls under the genre of trap house. Looking back, the young rapper said he has been following Hip Hop from a younger age but only went professional last year.
“I plan to market the single until it reaches half the population of Botswana, he said adamantly.
He assured that next would be the video followed by the EP. He said being brought up in a family where he learnt how the world works inspired him to bring the experience into his music.
