One of the event organisors, Alton Kgwatalala told Showbiz the festival would be an annual event that is mainly organised to give night crawlers a great time filled with endless entertainment from both local and international artists.

“We want people to feel good and enjoy themselves as we welcome the new season.  The objective of this event is to create a memorable show for kasi natives as our record label is mainly focused on making music mostly for our fans. We want to generate unity and bring our record label closer to the community. That is why most of our events are not in the city centre,” he explained.

Kgwatalala said that they would bring artists from South Africa namely, Jika Boys, Element and DJ Physix, Cee da Sydno. Local artists who will treat the audience to endless entertainment include Hlomela singer Mlesho Kaione, Raul Bryan, Dlala, Street Gang known with their famous songs Sukunyetsa and Mapantsula, Skazzo, DJ Saot, DJ Gouveia, and DJ Anthem whose song Menyopi has been trending on both social media and the local airwaves.

The Roc Lefatshe team will also treat fans with their own performances. The team involves Dipstrata, Kaycee, Mmemo, Ivon and Motha.

“Our target audience is basically the people from the townships and the nearest villages.  We want to give them a treat of the best music in the country.  The tickets are sold at Spar supermarkets across town and Webtickets.  They cost P60 each, but for people who would come to the event wearing military colours, which is the dress code, pay P50,” he said.

Kgwatalala added that he is also a musician.  He said he was a rapper, singer and a dancer. He said that since working for Roc Lefatshe, he gained a lot of experience in the music industry and has become an artist promoter and manager.  He pointed out that he also had an agency that focused on grooming and promoting artists.

The young man added that Afro pop artist, Khaya was one of the few registered under his agency.

He promised to take the local music industry to greater heights explaining that Spring At The Camp Music Festival was a piece from the cake of events lined up on his calendar.
