BCPYL wants to restore ailing democracy

At times history and fate meet at a single time in a single place to shape a turning point in man’s unending search for freedom.

We vow to never ever again allow our country Botswana, to suffer a deficit of democracy, deterioration of good governance, corruption and looting, abuse of office, humiliation of  civil servants,  violation of human rights, erosion of personal and civil liberties and a  culture  of fear. Hence we stand up united as BCPYL to restore our ailing democracy.

Our Commitment

The BCPYL resolved to revive and setup structures across the country, so to augment our growth as an organisation. We will soon embark on a three-months nationwide tour even to the far-flung areas of our country to promote the BCP of Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) as the party of choice. Above all, we also take seriously the issue of youth representation in our political landscape. As a matter of principle and empowerment, we shall lobby, support, train young people to position themselves to take leadership roles both at council and parliamentary level.

Umbrella

The BCPYL is disgusted by misleading, pathetic lies and cheap propaganda spread by some quarters that the BCP has not yet affiliated into the might UDC.

The argument that BCP is a “third party” because it did not sign memorandum of understanding “ke boitimokanyi.” Its basic law principle that if people negotiate and reach an agreement orally that’s the end of the story. The oral agreement is binding and enforceable in  law. The fact that the record of the agreement in a written form is yet to be signed is neither here nor there. The written agreement is merely to reduce the oral agreement into writing. It’s a mere confirmation of the oral agreement.

Netball World Youth Cup 2017

The BCPYL applauds all Botswana youth who partook in preparations and activities of the Netball World Youth Cup 2017, which took place in Gaborone, Botswana.  The Youth League specifically applauds team Dinaletsana and Preparatory Committee all who partook, because once again they demonstrated to the world that Botswana is alive with possibilities. As youth we should be proud that amongst us exists capacity to host a massive world activity that brings youth of the world to discuss how we build a world of peace, solidarity and social transformation.

World Athletics Championships 2017

The BCPYL congratulates team Botswana for good performance in the World Athletics Championships 2017. Despite failing to bring a medal home, Team Botswana bowed out with dignity and clear illustration that the team is capable and carries lots of potential to be the best.  On issue of (Isaac) Makwala’s alleged condition of gastrointestinal disease that denied him to participate in some of the critical races that he had qualified for, the YL would like to appeal to Botswana Athletics Association to account to the nation on what really transpired so that such cases can be avoided in the future.

Having listened to a clip of an IAAF official being roasted by BBC journalists over Makwala, we have come to the conclusion that IAAF is a big fraud. Their decision was grossly unreasonable, irrational and based on pedestrian speculation.

Yours in Struggle
