The police suspect the boyfriend of the deceased was responsible for her death and have embarked on a massive manhunt to locate him, as he was the last person seen with her.

According to the police, July’s lifeless body might have been at the spot three days before it was found.

“The burial was yesterday morning at Phomolong cemetery. The family was forced to bury her looking at the state of the body. They could not wait or take her body back home because it was badly decomposed,” Tlokweng police station commander, Superintendent Robson Maleka confirmed.

Maleka said investigations on the matter are still ongoing to establish the suspect(s) behind the horrific acts.

He however revealed that the police have launched an intense manhunt for the deceased’s boyfriend who happens to have been the last person seen with July.

He said their investigations have revealed that despite being married, July had a well-known boyfriend and they were last seen together.

“Her husband is residing at Orapa, but the boyfriend who is a resident of Tlokweng is nowhere to be found, hence we suspect he might help us with investigations. We have been looking for him ever since we received the report but to date he is still nowhere to be found,” he said.

Maleka said they cannot rule out that he had other people if indeed he knows what happened to the deceased as they also suspect she might have been gang raped.

“Inside the bag that contained the body, we found more than 15 used condoms hence suspecting that she might have been gang raped but that could only be confirmed after tests have been carried out,” Maleka said.

He however, said that even if the suspect was alone it is possible for that person to have offloaded the body alone especially that the tyre marks of the car used in transporting the body was close to where the body was dumped.

“It is therefore possible that the perpetrator was alone in commission of the offence and offloading the body,” Maleka said.

The deceased was residing in Broadhurst Extention 27, but her body was discovered in a bag by a passerby in the Tlokweng bushes.

Her wedding ring, spectacles, identity card, ATM cards, and her clothes were also discovered inside the bag soaked in blood.
