He is suspended on an issue of conduct. It is in line with how he works with us (the management) and the team as a whole,” the club’s vice chairperson, Moholo Lesotlho said last week.

The well-travelled trainer was appointed the team’s coach at the start of the season and has not sat on the bench, as he was waiting for his work permit.

Speaking to Mmegi Sport yesterday, Moyo said he was in the dark over his suspension.

“I am not sure what happened. I just received the letter, as of now I am still in the dark.

I’m yet to meet the management, until then I cannot comment on the matter,” he said.

The club has, however said the suspension is not in anyway linked to the team’s poor start in the league. Prior to Moyo’s suspension, Santos had accumulated six points out of possible 18 in the first six games. The team had recorded two wins and four losses before.

Moyo’s suspension is the second in less than a year at two different clubs. Earlier this year, he was suspended indefinitely by TAFIC for a reported fall out with some of the team’s key players.

The Zimbabwean was relieved off his duties at Matjimenyenga before the end of last season despite an impressive run in the team’s quest for promotion.

Moyo becomes the second coach to be suspended by a premiership club after Keitumetse ‘Pio’ Paul of Sharps Shooting Stars.

The newly-promoted side suspended Paul after the bruising league encounter against defending champions, Township Rollers, that left marksman Joel Mogorosi with a broken leg, ruling the former national team captain, out for at least three months.
