But club spokesperson, Kabo William said the Ostriches have not parted ways with Ndlovu.

Instead they held a meeting with him, to give the trainer some time to reflect on the current situation which sees Orapa sixth, having already lost three games in eight matches.

William said the club pleaded with the coach to get his troops in order after the management reckoned the technical team house was troubled, which impacted negatively on the results. He said therefore the management summoned the coach to a meeting on Wednesday evening and it was resolved that the coach be given days to reflect on his position. “No, we have not parted ways with the coach. We were not pleased at how the coach was responding to the current state of affairs in the dressing room,” he said.

“We therefore reached an agreement to give the coach seven days to think about his job because after a series of some events we felt he did not treat the matter with adequate respect,” he said. Ndlovu directed all queries to the team management. Although he confirmed the meeting, he did not give details.

“I can’t discuss Orapa United meetings with the media. I think the management is in a better position to respond to the media.”

“I hear everything that is said in the media and I read all things that are written, but I am here in Orapa. We are on international break and that is all I can say,” he said.

But one official, speaking on condition of anonymity, defended Ndlovu.

He said there is a revolt amongst delinquent players, which is derailing Orapa United from their initial mandate.

“We don’t want to find ourselves giving this disease a wrong dose because it will not go away. The coach is simply cracking the whip on delinquents and that should not be a problem. “We have run with the coach and he has brought us good results and good memories. We must hold our players, as employees of the club, equally responsible for these poor results. “Orapa United is bigger than the results, that is what should set us apart from ordinary teams. This situation needs to be approached with sober minds,” the official said.
