The said meeting was supposed to be held either at Boko or Ndaba Gaolathe’s office. One of the convenors Lebang Mpotokwane said, “We are disappointed because the UDC chairperson, had appointed with the UDC president so that we could discuss house-keeping issues in our party. I cannot disclose the issues that were on the agenda.

I cannot divulge what these issues are. So I can’t confirm nor deny that the BCP was on the agenda”.

However, probed further on whether current issues engulfing the Botswana Movement for Democracy (BMD) were on the agenda, he said, “the issue was not on the agenda because the matter will be dealt with at August 12 meeting.”

Mpotokwane said he was not invited to the next Saturday meeting, a development that has surprised him.

He said as the negotiation convenors, they were sitting at UDC NEC meetings because all parties affiliated to the UDC had agreed that they should be part of the committee until the next UDC congress. “Even to the last meeting, we were not invited as the convenors,” he lamented.

Molapise confirmed Boko’s snub of the meeting, whose purpose was to discuss UDC NEC house keeping issues.

Contacted for comment, Boko said he was not aware of that meeting. He further rubbished the said agenda item.

“There is nobody who can on any sane and serious basis either challenge BCP’s membership of UDC or its participation in UDC activities. So no such challenge exists,” Boko said.

Mmegi has learnt that the UDC leader had told Molapise that any issue regarding either BCP or BMD would be discussed on Saturday.  Before, Molapise had refused to attend UDC NEC meeting that was held at Oasis Motel, last week.

Though he had claimed that he was not invited, Mmegi later on that day learnt that Molapise had sent Boko message that BCP was illegally on UDC and they were not supposed to attend the UDC NEC meeting.

On BMD issue, Molapise has been on the side of Gaolathe.
