Man detained for sugar mummys death

Mahalapye police station commander, Supt. Isaac Mamadi, the two were lovers and are said to have had a misunderstanding before the incident. He said that according to the police investigations, the culprit who is eight years younger than the deceased, suspected that his girlfriend was in love with somebody else. Mamadi said they are investigating a similar matter in which another 35 year old woman was killed by the father of his children aged 29, on July 30 at Botalaote ward in Mahalapye. The suspect allegedly used a brick to bash the deceased’s head while still asleep at their home.

Mamadi said the two are said to have had a history of abuse, which was known by parents who never ralerted the police. He said by the time of the incident, the two were still in love. He added that according to police investigations, the main cause of murder was jealousy.

“Suspects in both matters have been detained while police investigations on the matters are still ongoing,” said Mamadi.

Meanwhile, Mamadi said they are investigating other two murders in which in the first matter, a group of five members of one family in Xhosa ward are alleged to have beaten to death a 27-years-old man. Apparently, the deceased who is said to had an affair with the suspects’ sister had earlier on stabbed the young woman with an Okapi knife. “Upon hearing that their sister had been stabbed, the brothers ganged up against the deceased and beat him up with the help of the girlfriend who had been stabbed.

The deceased was certified dead by medical doctors upon arrival at Mahalapye Hospital,” explained Mamadi. He said the five including the deceased’s girlfriend have since been arrested pending police investigations.  Furthermore, in another matter the station commander revealed that a man aged 22 stabbed a 14-year-old boy to death over a woman. Mamadi raised a concern over murder cases, which are increasingly worrying in his area.

He said that within a month of July only, they recorded four murders in which two of the victims were killed in their homes, while others were killed on the streets. He urged parents to monitor their children, as there were so many gangs in Mahalapye. Mamadi also pleaded with women to report abuse once it starts and refrain from withdrawing abuse cases saying they protect perpetrators unnecessarily.
