Modubule told the media on Friday that the old committee should desist from trying to be relevant to the new committee and accept it.

“The old committee cannot run the affairs of the new committee. It has done its part and we have all accepted it.

The new committee is bound to take decisions that we don’t like and those that we like. It should be given time to lead as the old committee has done.

The new UDC NEC took some of the decisions that we were not agreeing with as Botswana Movement for Democracy (BMD), but we were forced to abide with its decisions because our common goal is to take power from the ruling party,” Modubule said.

The Botswana People’s Party (BPP) chairperson, Richard Gudu said; “it is disappointing that as BPP we took a long time without attending UDC NEC meetings. We have therefore resolved at our leadership forum that we held recently that BPP is not going to miss any UDC meetings anymore.

BPP does not have any relationship or agreement with Alliance for Progressives (AP), and those who attend their events would have gone there as friends not sent by the party”.

Gudu said leaders should always take mandate from their members rather than making statements that are not sanctioned by the party.

He said they are not going to stop members from airing their views, but they do have a problem when people claim that such statements are from the party.

He said they have submitted the four names that would represent the party at UDC NEC, which include Shathiso Tambula, Tshepo Makhane, Gudu and Peter Kuchwe.

However, the UDC president Duma Boko applauded the BMD leadership for putting aside their differences and focussing on building the UDC.

GNT pulled one back on the 80th. Lovers’ goalkeeper failed to clear outside his box and Thabo Leposo, who had closed him down, took advantage and buried into the empty net.

In the last minute Modisaotsile rattled the crossbar with a 19 yards rocket from a free kick after the goalkeeper was penalised for handling outside the box.

Kootswele said they still have some work to do in the finishing department to maximise on the chances they are creating.

His opposite number, Edward Leposo said his defence was punished for lack of discipline. “For some reason we were over confident at the back and we made mistakes. We also broke down in the midfield and that is where we lost the game.”
