BOSETU Cultural Night ushers in Mafikizolo

Mafikizolo, with their latest hit, have undoubtedly caused a storm and their flurry of fans would be thrilled to see the band back in Gaborone where their fan base is unshakeable.
For BOSETU, it is a step many levels beyond their tradition of hosting the much celebrated cultural night. This is the first time that the BOSETU night will be featuring a foreign artist.
It will be a night of diverse entertainment offerings with songstress Amantle Brown, as well as the amazing local Afro pop band Sereetsi and the Natives, of Robete fame, also in the line-up for the night.
However the BOSETU Cultural Night concept of featuring BOSETU grown talent in BOSETU choral, BOSETU troupe, BOSETU band, will be upheld.
The BOSETU Cultural Night is used by the union to raise funds towards their corporate social responsibility programme which among others has seen the union erect decent houses for the less privileged in Gantsi and Mmadinare in the past, while part of the funds have also been used to help transport BOSETU members for their annual sports and culture games known as Antusa Games.
Anticipating multitudes of crowds as they take their BOSETU Cultural Night to the Molapo Piaza for the first time, BOSETU have ensured that security will be tight for revelers in the Piazza as well as their cars in the parking area.
At a press conference called to announce the line-up and the date of the BOSETU Culture Night at the Piazza on Thursday evening, BOSETU assured the would be revelers that security will be patrolling the area to ensure vehicles are not vandalised.
Molapo Piazza officials also described the venue as the safest in town, and that in an emergency, the venue can evacuate everyone within 10 minutes, thanks to its convenient emergency exits, while the interior is fitted with many security cameras to spot culprits in cases of violence.
According to BOSETU secretary general, Tobokani Rari, the union to date has about 17,000 members and growing as it embarks on recruiting more new members across the education sector in Botswana including private institutions, colleges, universities, primary schools, secondary school teachers, as well as just any personnel employed in the teaching sector including non teaching staff.
The announcement of the BOSETU Cultural Night was graced by newly elected BOSETU president Winston Radikolo, BOSETU vice secretary general, Innocent Mannathoko, publicity secretary Edwin Maitshoko, secretary for sports, Ndiyapo Modimo, among others.
