The Lobatse branch located in Thema 2 ward is the fifth since the inception of the business in 2013.  It was officially opened on July 28 with at least 50 on staff complement.

The company currently has two stores in Gaborone, one in Maun and another in Selebi-Phikwe.

Manjula said the business is settling well in Lobatse and they are receiving ‘good response’ from customers because of their prices, which match those in Gaborone.

“We realised that there is a price difference of commodities between wholesales in Gaborone and those in Lobatse despite the fact that the distance between the two locations is not that huge.  We then came to settle here with prices of shops in Gaborone hence we are expecting to succeed,” he said.

Manjula said they have not experienced any challenges since they started the business and they had earlier on looked for a warehouse within the town centre, but could not find space. “We cannot say we have challenges so far.  Everything is running smoothly and the warehouse is also in good condition.

We had initially looked for a warehouse within the town centre, but we could not find a good location hence we settled for the one in Thema ward,” he said.  Fours Cash & Carry hopes to open three more branches by December and to have employed at least 500 people.

“We already have five branches across the country and currently we have employed at least 300 people. By the end of the year we would have employed at least 500 people with the oncoming branches in Mogoditshane, Francistown and Gantsi,“ Manjula said.
