The tournament will feature four Premier League sides, Orapa United, Security Systems, Sankoyo Bush Bucks and BDF XI. Selolwane who has since retired, explained that the selection of participating teams was based on the fact that three of them, BDF XI, Sankoyo and Security Systems are dressed by Dlala Sports Wear company. He said hopefully Orapa United will in future get into partnership with the local clothing brand.

He said the event provides an opportunity for both Bank Gaborone and Dlala to take their brands to the people of Maun. Bank Gaborone has sponsored the event to the tune of P100,000.

Sharing his football journey and vision yesterday, Selolwane said when he retired he thought hard about what he was going to do.

He said he held some coaching clinics in Maun. Late last year, he decided to come up with a Trust and ran the idea through his family. “I decided to call it U-turn Dipsy Trust since the fans gave me that name while I was still playing.” Dipsy, who also has an academy, said he then sat down with Dlala management and told them he wanted to organise a football tournament so that he can fund the trust. He also spoke to Bank Gaborone and shared his vision and agreed to it resulting in the Saturday spectacle.

He said his biggest fear is to be forgotten hence he will continue to do something related to football. He said he was worried about the low number of highly qualified coaches in the country and hopes that through his trust, he can eventually be able to enrol for coaching courses in Europe. He said should things go according to plan, he will be willing to even take other potential local coaches for such courses abroad.

During the draw yesterday, Orapa United were pitted against Security Systems in the first semi-final. The game will start at 9am. BDF XI will then take on Sankoyo Bush Bucks at 11:15am in the other semi final. The losers final will be staged at 1:30pm while the final starts at 4pm.

The participants will be awarded medals and trophy. The tournament will also serve as a preparatory pre-season activity for the four teams with the league scheduled to start in three weeks time.
