Amongst those were that the financial audit had not been carried out. However, the elective meeting went ahead. The general membership at the meeting resolved to retain the transitional committee specifically to deal with two remaining issues in the court order, being the constitutional review and the audit.

There were rumours that the disgruntled members were contemplating approaching the courts but one of the members, Ramocha Tsieng said that was not true.

He, however said they will meet and see what unfolds.

Meanwhile, Chiefs supporters breathed a sigh of relief on Saturday following revelations that midfielder, Lesego Galenamotlhale has decided to stay at the club. Galenamotlhale and several other players were said to be on their way out of the Kgatleng giants in a mass exodus.

The departures follow a disappointing season on and off the field with players owed up to five months salaries.

With the club in financial doldrums after the departure of investor Sayed Jamali, Chiefs struggled to fulfil their financial obligations with players and decided to let go some key players in the transfer window. Amongst those who left were striker, Jerome Ramatlhakwana who has joined archrivals, Township Rollers and Arnold Mampori who has moved to Gaborone United (GU).

The club’s vice secretary, Lebogang Seboni told supporters at their annual general meeting (AGM) on Saturday that the two players were contracted to Chiefs but were allowed to leave since they are owed salaries.

He said they agreed with the two players to scrap off the debt and join clubs of their choice.

Other players whose contracts elapsed and left are Ayanda Molefe and Dirang Moloi who have joined Jwaneng Galaxy and GU respectively.

Galenamotlhale was also linked with a move to Galaxy, but Seboni said the player has decided to stay. “Lesh has made a u-turn and has told us that he wants to stay,” Seboni told ecstatic Chiefs supporters on Saturday. Although they lost some key players, some of those who remained are said to have been waiting for the Saturday meeting before they could make their decisions regarding their future.  “Some of the players will definitely make their decisions after today’s meeting.

They want to see how today’s meeting will end especially that a new committee will be ushered in. Chances are that they will commit to the club if their preferred committee members are elected,” one observer told Mmegi Sport on Saturday.

During the meeting, Seboni informed the supporters that they still have some key players in the team amongst them Noah Maposa, Katlego Koobake, Tendai Nyamadzawo, Allen Ndodole, Siamang Kgosipula and Kgaodi Odirile.
