This will be one of the first live performances of the trio outside South Africa after their recent reunion. For the first time in more than seven years, Kabelo Mabalane, Zwai Bala and Tokollo Tshabalala (aka TKZee) will be staging a performance in Botswana.

The ’90s hit group has turned out hits such as Shibobo, Phalafala, We Love This Place, Masimbela, Dikakapa and more over the years which have been favourites to many people.

“They are a legendary group. Once we heard that they have reunited we jumped on it and decided to book them for our last installment. We know they are a favourite to a lot of people. Remember we did the same with Bongo Muffin when they reunited we where the first people to bring them down here,” said Oliver Groth, the event organiser.

This will be one of the biggest Mascom Live Sessions event for this year because it is hosting an act that has not performed in the country in the longest of time.

Their music is most appealing to a generation that grew up in the 90s when kwaito was at its peak. Their albums always had a Christmast  hit that was played in different places such as parties, clubs, shebeens and chill sessions. TKZee members have also gone to stage successful solo careers.

Local pop artist, Han C will be the opening act for the South African trio. The young artist expressed excitement to be opening up for his childhood heroes.

“It’s quite an honour to be sharing the stage with them. I am preparing something really nice for the performance; expect the best from me. These are people that I grew up listening to,” said Han C.

He stated that this is one of his biggest gigs and he believes it will open more doors for him. The Seileng artist said he would perform his own tracks and a number of covers.

Unlike last year where the last Mascom Live Session was taken to the outer field, Groth has stated that the TKZee gig will be staged at the normal inner space to avoid rains and it will be covered.

Groth also advised revelers not to bring alcohol into the venue, as it is not permitted stating that they can purchase it inside the venue.
