His departure saw Daniel ‘Chicco’ Nare take over, albeit until January when the club will bring in a substantive head coach, and Nare will then revert to being assistant coach.

However, less than a week after he left Orapa United, Ndlovu is linked with a move to Gunners although nothing official has been discussed between the two parties. The club management is said to have internally discussed the prospect of bringing in Ndlovu to guide the team as they seek to maintain last season’s performance.

Gunners finished fourth in the last campaign, recording their best performance in many seasons. They had started last season under Nare, but the two parties’ relationship came to an end in the middle of the season before Itumeleng Duiker took over.

He guided them to a lengthy unbeaten run as they finished fourth. However, matters have not gone as many had anticipated with some inconsistent performances early on in the season. Now Gunners are said to be eyeing Ndlovu who has had successful stints with Mochudi Centre Chiefs, Township Rollers and Orapa United.

However, club spokesperson, Edwin Mabapa said nothing official has been discussed regarding the idea of roping in the Zimbabwean mentor.

Mabapa said Duiker remains in charge as the head coach although there is strong speculation that his time as the head coach could be running out.  However, there are reports that should Ndlovu be roped in, Duiker will remain with the technical team as an assistant coach. Meanwhile, Gunners goalkeeper, Katlego Mbise is said to be gradually recuperating after picking up an injury recently. He missed the past two games with Lame Tladinyane manning the goalposts in his absence.

“He has resumed light training coupled with Physiotherapy.

He might be ready within two weeks,” Mabapa said. Gunners take on high riding Black Forest  in Lobatse on Saturday.
