In an interview with Showbiz, Tomeletso Sereetsi of Sereetsi & The Natives said the show appeals to certain kinds of people who like a laid back and relaxed atmosphere. Sereetsi said they strictly provide live music.

“It’s a very mature environment. We started it last year as a pilot and fortunately we were hosted by Cresta Hotel in Palapye,” he said.  Sereetsi said this year they want it to be bigger because they have a firm plan.

“We will have a VIP section. Cresta will be hosting us again and they saw potential and it can grow bigger and better,” he said. Sereetsi said the show could bring holidaymakers to Palapye and act as a tourist attraction. He said they will travel to Palapye because usually there is no live show since shows are dominated by backtracks and DJs.

“Palapye is a central place, so people can come from as far as Gaborone and Francistown,” he added. He said people in and around Palapye deserve quality entertainment.  Sereetsi said they are still working on a line-up, but Sereetsi and The Natives will be the headline act.

“We are big artists and we will bring equally big international artists,” he said.  He highlighted that it is important for artists to have their own shows no wonder they have a show of their own annually.

“We should do things on our own way and be self-reliant,” he said.  Sereetsi further told Showbiz that they do not have sponsors yet, but affirmed that the show will continue without fail. He also indicated that as a band, they will perform new material since their album is coming out next year.
