The outgoing secretary general, Kebonye Tau said only 11 members bothered to attend last weekend’s meeting, which prompted the postponement.

“We could not carry on and we had to reschedule the AGM to next week because 11 members cannot take decisions for over 400 people,” he said.

“We have a decent number of registered members all of who are still active in our social network platforms where we relay our communication and we have made them aware of the meeting.”

“Our mandate as the outgoing committee is over, but we have laid down some plans to change a number of things, which we had planned to present before our members and if they fail to attend to the next AGM we will be left with no option but to carry forward.”

He said the way the club members have been dragging their feet since the team relegated from the top-flight league has been worrisome.

Tau said they fear Amahot might follow in the footsteps of Selebi-Phikwe’s FC Satmos, which relegated from the Premiership through First Division then down to the third tier, Division One in quick succession.

Tau said the first team is yet to report for pre-season and still owe players as the club coffers are dry.

He said the team was supposed to return after the President’s Day holidays on July 19.

He said they are aware their stars are trying out at various teams although only four have been given the greenlight.

He said of the four, two are at Extension Gunners, one at TAFIC and the other at Miscellaneous.

“A good number of our players are on trials across the country from what we have gathered, but we have received only contacts for the four players.

All our players are still contracted to us and if they are to move we expect proper procedures to be followed.” Tau said the former coach who led the club to the Premiership, Candy Teboeng is conducting trials in Mahalapye.
