The decision was agreed by the affiliates during a response to PBAB president, Shakes Kebualemang’s address.

Speaking to Mmegi Sport yesterday, Kemoen said reasons for the motion do not hold water. He said the motion should have been tabled 14 days before the meeting as per procedure. He said it was also to be included in the agenda of the meeting.

Kemoen accused Kebualemang of being in the dark about procedure, as he failed to use his powers as the chairperson.

Kemoen said he has been aware of the motion against him as early as August but dismissed it.

“The president is part of the scam. He must resign and pave way for modern leadership. The members who moved the motion are in fact in default of payment of subscriptions. The Saturday meeting was illegal because we did not form a quorum,” he said.

Kemoen said the co-option of the vice secretary general was also illegal as it is not provided for in the constitution.

“One of the reasons advanced was that I failed to work with affiliates. I find that insulting to my intelligence. I am a shrewd sport administrator,” he said.

Kemoen argued that PBAB does not have an office and he used his resources to run the association. He felt that it was still early to judge him adding that the board and affiliates have not given him a mandate to achieve.

“I do not know where my failure emanates from. I see this as being cheap and lack of proper judgement and belittling my personality. This is street discipline tactics. There are people out there who just want to disrupt what I sweat for,” he lashed out.

Kemoen said he contributed to the formation of PBAB and others just want to benefit from his efforts.

“I remain PBAB secretary general and I am not taking this matter lying down,” Kemoen fumed.

Reacting to Kemoen’s allegations, Kebualemang said the association belongs to the members and if they are not happy about somebody in the leadership, they have the right to remove that person.

“If they said they do not want me, I would have left. In May they did the same thing, removed all of us and later changed their minds and retained us,” he said.

Kebualemang said the removal of Kemoen from the executive is a loss because he has vast experience and was part of the Local Controlling Board (LCB) some years back. He said they have not yet replaced Kemoen and nobody is acting in the position.

“He cannot be saying the appointment of the vice secretary general is illegal because he is the one who brought that person. He had agreed to the co-option of that person. I am disappointed to hear such things from him,” Kebualemang said.

Kebuwalemang said he tried to calm down the affiliates during the meeting, requesting them against the idea of moving the motion but they refused.
