Kavazovic has a case to answer before the DC for his comments after the bruising encounter against Sharps Shooting Stars played last month at the UB Stadium. The Serbian accused his opponents on the day for playing ‘kickboxing and fighting sport in the field of football’ and labelled them as a ‘small team’.

Speaking to journalists after his team played to a 2-2 draw with Orapa United on Monday at the Lobatse Sports Complex, Kavazovic accused the media of writing false reports about him thus landing him in hot soup with the BPL DC.

“I would like to apologise to everyone of you even to Killer Pass and 90 Plus Football who are writing lies about me every single day. That is why I came to tell you, that I decided not to give any more interviews or statements while I am in Botswana.

The reason is very simple, whatever I say you are not paying attention on football; you are taking some words from my statements, which bring me to the BPL and BFA court and BPL prosecutors are treating me like a criminal like I killed a man.

“My family is suffering and we are not happy here any more. Therefore, sometimes I will not give any interviews or statements. We had one game today where everyone who is just a little bit smart will understand why we didn’t win today. If I explain that same prosecutor will charge me for another murder, so I will keep in silence from now and in future,” Kavazovic said.

On the pitch Popa had to sweat for the valuable point against the Ostriches as they stretched their unbeaten streak to 34 games. Omaatla Kebatho put the visitors in front with a brace just inside 30 minutes.

Rollers pulled one back six minutes into the second half as Percy More marked his debut with a goal, before Mosha Gaolaolwe levelled matters with a header from Segolame Boy’s corner kick to deny Daniel Nare the maximum points in his first game played in his home town as the Ostriches’ interim coach.

“It was a good game of football, quality football out there. I don’t think we were too bad; we played against a very good team at 2-2 we could still have gone three or four up especially at the back. I think Swere (Kobamelo Kebaikanye) could have buried the last chance to give us 3-2 (win).

On the whole, I think I should give credit to Madinda (Ndlovu, former Orapa coach). I only trained the team only for a week, only this week.

This point is not for me it’s Madinda’s point. He bought the players, he did the preseason, and he assembled the squad. I only made two changes and then in the systems I changed from the usual 4-3-3 to 4-2-3-1 because I was playing away.

“On the balance of play we wouldn’t cry much on a 2-2, but it’s disappointing for a team to concede from a set piece, two headers. However, on the whole we won’t cry much.

We were on the road and the team has been struggling a bit. I think they took a jab on the confidence. It’s a question of trying to cultivate the confidence,” Nare said after the game.

In Maun, Sankoyo Bush Bucks beat Gaborone United 3-2 thanks to a hat trick from Morris Ruzivo while Tumisang Orebonye and Arnold Mampori scored for the visitors.
