Four die along A1

The accident occurred between Tati Siding and Tonota village.  Officer Commanding No. 1 district, Superintendent Nkwebi Chilisa confirmed the incident, saying the accident happened when the minibus due south, overturned on its own.

He said Monday that investigations were still ongoing on what could have happened leading to such a horrific mishap.

Chilisa disclosed that there were 14 passengers in the minibus of which four died on the spot. The remaining 10 were whisked off to Nyangabgwe Referral Hospital, where they are receiving treatment.

He said that they are yet to confirm the names of the deceased women to notify their next of kins.

He encouraged road users to be cautious when driving so that they can reach their destinations alive and safely.
