DJ KoolyK releases Thando Lame

The single was recorded at True African Studios in Gaborone.

The single featured DJ Garos, another upcoming artist who hails from Kanye village. Thando Lame is a house music song that talks about love. According to DJ KoolyK, the single encourages love amongst people especially those who are dating.

The 17-year-old dedicated the song to those who are deeply in love saying nowadays it is hard to keep a relationship.

The Serowe born and bred DJ KoolyK told this publication that he has been relying on being a DJ, so through Thando Lame he wants to market his brand further. He said as an upcoming DJ, they are rarely recognised, hence less bookings. He believes that the single will earn him more bookings.

“This is my first song to release and I am intending to keep on releasing singles until my brand is well known.

“I have survived on being a DJ ever since Form Three and I have long aspired to be like DJ Crispin and South Africa’s Prince Kaybee. Music has always been something I love even at school I was always a DJ when there were events,” DJ KoolyK said.

He said Thando Lame is currently on social media and will be available in shops by the end of December. He said though he has not officially launched it, the fans are already showing a positive response towards the song.

According to the young DJ, Thando Lame will be officially launched on December 23 at Sekgarapeng Festival at Lesenepole in the Tswapong District.

Dj KoolyK, who has been a resident DJ at Botshabelo bar in Mogoditshane and also performed at Trekkers Nite Club, has shared the stage with the likes of DJ Crispin and DJ Skilash.

He urged other upcoming artists to work hard in order to achieve their dreams, stating that music is all about passion not being after money. He appreciated DJ Skilash, DJ Reckon, DJ Crispin and his producer, Antonedo saying they contributed a lot in making his dream a success.
