Ndlovu could not hide his excitement about the regime change after President Robert Mugabe’s resignation this week following 37 years in charge. “Zimbabwe is on the line and we hope change will come,” the excited Ndlovu said. “Mugabe’s era has opened up eyes to all of us. We hope things could be rectified and changed for the better so that Zimbabwe becomes liveable again.”

Ndlovu believes, with a return of investors, economical revival will not take long. He said he envisions the return of a Zimbabwe that oozed passion for football.

Ndlovu said football in Zimbabwe took a knock because of the movement of people into the Diaspora, but believes things could change with an immediate turnaround.

Back at home Ndlovu is heavily linked with a return to his boyhood side, Highlanders, a team he has coached and played for.

Bosso, as Highlanders is known to their legion of fans, will be without a coach at the end of the season after their Dutch coach, Erol Akbay indicated he will not be renewing his contract. Locally, Ndlovu is linked to Extension Gunners. He confirmed the links and said he continues to receive many other offers.

“There are too many offers coming in, but for now I can only confirm the Gunners and Highlanders offers.

“I am considering my next move but first I am taking my time to reflect on my past job and see how I can rectify what I did not do right.” He said he had thought about going back home or changing country, before he joined Orapa United.

“It (going home) is just a thought for now but it is something I have wanted to do before Orapa (United) gave me a challenging offer two seasons ago. “I remain open to offers even here. As a coach every job is good, it’s about a challenge you get. Botswana is my second home and I will continue developing football in Botswana.” He said while he is considering his next move, he is still waiting for formal communication from his previous employer.

“I have not received any documentation as yet from Orapa United, but obviously I know of the decision that have been reached because already there is someone there.”

When quizzed about his fallout with the Ostriches, he said it is a question of contrasting visions. “I came to Orapa under a management that presented me with their vision and we drove it well at the same breadth and we achieved abundantly. The same management did not stand in the past elections.

“The new management came in and they have the new vision of taking the club forward. Unfortunately there was a contrast of some sort in how we had done things with the past management and that is probably how we got to the tipping point.”

Ndlovu came to Botswana to join Township Rollers in 2008. His achievements in Botswana are well documented. He has won everything that is to play for in the local football scene in his spell here. He has also coached Mochudi Centre Chiefs, Motlakase Power Dynamos and Nico United.
