The game kicked-off in high tempo with both teams looking for an early goal.  However, it was Ledumang who scored first in the 21st minute through Mompati Madisa. The goal resulted from a fantastic move that also involved Obakeng Matoso and Candi Koko.

LOBSEC did not lose hope and fought hard in search of an equaliser, but they failed to convert the chances they created.  Madisa’s goal separated the two sides at half time. In the second half, LOBSEC took the game to their opponents and were nearly rewarded when Laone Motswiri released a pass in the midfield, which found Theo Berrence unmarked, but his shot went wide.

Ledumang frustrated LOBSEC’s efforts when they tried to play their passing game. LOBSEC’s patience paid off when they got the much-needed equaliser in the 87th minute through Baokeditswe Talane. The game went into extra time where LOBSEC dominated and scored two more goals through Rorisang Mokganele and Berrence.

Speaking after the match, LOBSEC coach, Hennel Kaisara said his players worked according to instructions.  He said he was proud that they managed to stage a come back.  “We are the champions because we play football; nothing more, nothing less,” he said. Ledumang assistant coach, Omphile Chideka said he was not happy with how the match officials treated them.

“It is like they wanted Lobatse to win, but technically our players did what we wanted,” he said.
