Based in the heart of the second city Francistown, the 28-year-old Keoreng, who trades under Miss Dee Promotions, aims at developing, branding and promoting local artists.

Keoreng, who has largely been contributing and promoting the creative industry in Francistown, told Business Monitor that her business which she started about four years ago, is already creating waves in the music and arts industry as well as across the region.

Keoreng, who was born in Maun and grew up in Francistown, is also pursuing her goal of becoming the biggest female millionaire promoter in Africa. “I grew up with the passion and zeal for promoting biggest carnivals in the land. During my teen days, I was famous for being the best student when it came to organising school events,” she said.

She gained popularity in the city after promoting big events such as St Louis Summer Festival, All White Carnival both in Francistown and Maun, Tafic Tagwilila Festival, Future Legends DJ’s, as well as Francistown Goledzwa, to mention but a few.

Some of the projects that she been engaged in include the Festival Impresario, which is well known for putting on fiestas in Francistown, Gaborone and Maun. She is also the first female promoter in Francistown to promote music festivals that attracted over thousands attendees annually.

She disclosed that the above-mentioned fiestas made huge profits for her business hence contributing to its mega growth. Keoreng hopes that through her journey as a promoter she could also attract tourists to Francistown’s historic sites like Nyangabwe Hill, Supa Ngwao Museum and others.

In addition, Keoreng said that festival promotions is one of the biggest growing markets in the world and encouraged the youth to penetrate it so as to sustain themselves.

“Young entrepreneurs should always follow their dreams and hustle until they reach their goals. Businesses like promotions could even create a lot of jobs for the youth if the private sector and government could invest in the creative in the industry,” she said.

Apart from being a festival promoter, Keoreng pursued Diploma in Secretary Administration, Marketing and Business Management at Realic Professional and Technical College. Her past music festivals were funded by Cue Beat Promotions, Kevin Mpho Klass and Mompati Molefhe, popularly known as DJ Da Dude, through cash injections.
