Boago Mosarwane, Otsile Moses and Chidzani Mokgwebe allegedly assaulted Masogo early this year at the party’s controversy-ridden region elective congress  here.

In an interview with Mmegi yesterday, the station commander for Francistown Central police station, Superintendent Lebalang Maniki confirmed that the trio will appear in court tomorrow.

“Apart from the court date, I do not have much details on the case,” Maniki said.

The station commander recently confirmed that the police have completed the investigations into the matter.

Mosarwane also confirmed that they have been summoned to appear in court tomorrow. “I am on my way from Maun to Francistown to prepare for my court appearance.

“I do not know what will exactly transpire in court. I assume that prosecution will read a charge to us from whereupon we will decide if we take a plea or not,” said Mosarwane.

After the completion of the court case the three men will also be subjected to a party hearing. They are currently on an indefinite suspension and the party hearing was temporarily halted to allow them to deal with the court case.

Masogo has vowed that he will not forgive Moswaane’s supporters insisting that they humiliated him to the core.

Moswaane’s supporters were last year accused of assaulting BDP activist, Ford Moiteela during a party activity in Francistown South but they escaped without a charge from both the police and the party.

On the other hand, Moiteela was charged in court for assaulting Moswaane. The charges were later dropped following the intervention of Vice President Mokgweetsi Masisi.

The VP had indicated that allowing the matter to go to trial could severely tarnish the image of the BDP.
