Speaking to Showbiz, Small who is also a dancer said that upon realising that he was blessed with of singing and dancing talent he decided to venture into music and not let his God-given gifts go to waste.

“I’m part of a family that loves music and appreciates it so dearly.  I’m also a big follower of Vee and I grew up listening to his music.  I personally look up to him in terms of music and he has so much influence on mine,” he said.

The passionate artist said that he started music in 2008, but began recording in 2010.  He added that he released his first album in 2012, which was nominated for the 2012 Botswana Music Awards.

“My music is all about the situations that the world is faced with and with my music I intend to transmit important information and messages that can educate as well as uplift people out there,” he said.

He added that his music stands on its own because he uses different elements of language including slang, which enables him to reach out to different communities in Botswana.

Small said that his latest single, which is titled Africa featuring Spetto and Zolasko, produced by Zolasko Music Lab, speaks about the xenophobia attacks that took place in South Africa. “People should unite and live as one. They should eliminate discrimination of race and learn to tolerate other people’s differences,” he added.

He highlighted that as Africans we should love each other and apply the golden rule of treating others as we would have them treat us.

“The support from people is there, I appreciate it, but then when you are an upcoming artist it’s very difficult for everyone to follow your music and book you for events. Despite that, I am very hopeful that my music will take me to better places,” he said.

He raised concerns that he submitted his music at various radio stations, which fail to play his songs frequently unless he makes follow up requests that his music be played.

He added that he is faced with the challenge of failed shows, which never make profit due to poor attendance coupled with bad record sales.

He added that he aspires to grow his record label, CashPop City Entertainment, which will mainly assist upcoming artists to invest in their music and ensure its development.

He advised other upcoming artists to compose music that has meaning and is of high quality.

“As upcoming artists we should write songs that make sense and not rush to fame and money-making, quality should be a priority,” he said.
