Kgamanyane, who had a running contract at Forest until 2019, signed a two-year deal with GU last week.

Speaking to Mmegi Sport yesterday, Forest general manager Mompati Ditiro said the club initially demanded P150,000 but after negotiations they settled for P130,000. “Yes, indeed Kgamanyane has signed for GU. We settled for P130,000 after they (GU) felt that the initial prize tag was too high,” Ditiro briefly said.

‘Messi’ as Kgamanyane is affectionately called played a sterling role in the team’s first season in the elite league.

He scored eight goals and caught the eye of national team selectors, earning two caps with the Zebras. GU snatched the attacker under the noses of cross town rivals, Township Rollers and the mining town sides of Jwaneng Galaxy and Orapa United.

Ditiro also confirmed marksman Lynoth Chikuwa’s departure. He said the striker who scored nine goals was released from his contract after he handed in a transfer request. The club has also parted ways with veteran striker, Wellington Maposa after just six months with the club. The striker is assessed by newly-promoted Sharps Shooting Stars and played for the team in the GCC Mayor’s Cup over the weekend.

Forest have now lost all their key attackers and Ditiro said they have already begun the search for replacements and an announcement would be made in the next three weeks.

Meanwhile, GU have also acquired the services of midfielders; Dirang Moloi and Arnold Mampori from Mochudi Centre Chiefs on a year and two contracts respectively.

Mampori is believed to be in a swap deal as central midfielder Thato Ogopotse joins Chiefs. The midfielder turned out for Chiefs on Saturday in the Mayor’s Cup.

He played in the two games and scored once against TAFIC in the semi finals. Magosi also gave former Rollers youth prospect, Pako Ketimilwe a run on the day. Stars have secured the signature of journeyman, Amos ‘Shoes’ Godirwang. Shoes is one of the most experienced midfielders in the country, having played for Rollers, Chiefs, BMC (now Gilport Lions) and Extension Gunners. BDF XI have completed the signing of Moatlhodi Ralesotla from Gunners.

The striker completed his medicals last week and is expected to join the rest of the team this week. Matebele are also said to be in pursuit of Zebras defender, Thato Kebue.

Far north, Orapa United last Friday unveiled former Township Rollers winger Kobamelo Kebaikanye and Tapiwa Nyamanjiva from Motlakase Power Dynamos as their recruits. The team is expected to unveil former Rollers centre back, Bogosi Kaekwe when he returns from national team duty this week.

Zambian attacker, Shardrack Chimanya impressed for Rollers against Kaizer Chiefs, as he is keen to earn a contract with league champions.  Police XI over the weekend fielded former GU defender, Gaopatwe Seosenyeng and former Rollers marksman, Kekaetswe Moloi as they won a pre-season tournament played at Otse Stadium. The two-day tournament comprised BDF XI, Forest and Lesotho’s first division side, Ketane FC.
