LLB partners with the Desert Bushwalk Winter 2017

The partnership will see facilitation in the development of rural communities in and around the Jwaneng Area. Liberty Life, through the Annual 30km Charitable Walk shall be providing the necessary resources to make a difference in the lives of people who are underprivileged.

Lebogang Pillar, Trustee of the The Desert Bushwalk-Local Organising Committee, cited that motivation for creating the initiative is to help communities that are out of reach to most of infrastructure and resources in the Jwaneng-Mabutsane region.

“In 2016, we raised P160,000 which was donated to the Minister of Basic Education Hon. Dr Unity Dow, and P150, 000 donated to a resource centre which would benefit 19 primary schools in the Jwaneng-Mabutsane region whilst P100,000 was donated to Operation New Xanagas.” Pillar asserted.

For her part Lulu Rasebotsa, Managing Director of Liberty Life Botswana emphasised the important role that Liberty Life will play. As an insurance company that orchestrates financial freedom and peace of mind they would also like to be a long-standing physical wellness partner with the community.

In their plea to promote financial wellness, they also saw it fit to promote physical wellness as this aligns with Liberty Life’s philosophy of financial freedom and peace of mind. After all LLB is not just a name; it’s what they do and are passionate about.

To conclude, she expressed gratitude to all those who were present at the conference. “We would like to commend the organisers of the The Desert Bushwalk-Winter 2017 for coming up with this initiative, and encourage everyone in Jwaneng and other areas to participate and help shape their best lives”, she concluded.

Pillar, further advised the public to get their tickets as early as possible as spaces are limited. Tickets are available at Spar supermarkets in Francistown, Molepolole Francistown, Palapye, Jwaneng, Lobatse, Mochudi, Maun, and Serowe. For those who are technologically savvy tickets are also available online at www.webtickets.co.bw.

The Desert Bush walk is an initiative by CSI-Concepts Foundation in conjunction with The Desert Bush Walk Local Organizing Committee-LOC (Team of Volunteers).

This 30km Annual Charity Walk is to start in Jwaneng, then take a bush trail into the desert ending back in Jwaneng. All of the proceeds from the Walk will be used on sustainable educational projects and disadvantaged children.
