The band has already released two singles from their upcoming fifth album titled Dineo, which will be a seven-track Afro-pop music project. The band has also been known as Tears of Africa or Flames of Africa.

“The Afro-pop album came as a request from our supporters after they had seen and heard us performing a number of Afro pop and jazz music covers during our live performances, as they would compliment us saying we actually perform the covers well,” Shoko, the band’s lead singer said.

Despite having tracks from their previously released Sungura albums the band has often performed cover tracks by various artists at different joints such as Millenium Jazz Restaurant and Planet Sports Café.  “We are currently in the studio working on music material. The Afro pop album is set for release before the end of the year.

It will be a diverse album that has different languages such as Setswana, Ndebele, Venda, Shona to mention but a few.” The two singles from the upcoming album Dineo and Ntombazana are in Setswana and Ndebele respectively.

For an ensemble that has been focusing on Sungura music genre for more than a decade their sound is not bad with the instrumentation giving it more impetus to maintain the Afro pop element.

“Working on an Afro-pop album does not mean that we are no longer doing Sungura music, it still part of us.  Actually we are also working on a Sungura album set for release next year,” Shoko said.

It has been seven years since the band released an album with Shoko stating that they have been busy focusing on different ventures such as promoting events.

Their last offering was Tirimo Mudariro. The band has worked with a number of artists such as Franco, Tyte, Makau and Jeff Matheatau.
