Mafoko Receives Galaxy�s Biggest Award

Mafoko guided the team to win the Mascom Top 8 cup and also to finish in the second spot in the BTC Premiership. It was under this background that the team management and sponsors saw the need to award players and people who played a pivotal role in ensuring that the team reach this impressive milestone. Gilbert Baruti pocketed P3,500 after being honoured with the most disciplined award.

The team goalkeeper Anthony Gouws, who has been selected in the national team, received the supporter’s player of the season award in abstentia. The award was sponsored by Diamond café in Jwaneng to the tune of P3,500. Thabo Leinanyana who was nominated along with Thero Setsile and Mafoko in the player’s Player of the season, triumph and walked away with P4,000 from Servest company.

Setsile who has been instrumental in making sure that the team shake the net, was honoured with a top goal scorer award. Club chairperson, Njabulo Gilika honoured Olefe Masuge and the development team head coach Kagiso Gabasiane with the Chairman’s awards for their outstanding contribution to the team. Martha Mokganya was the only lady award receiver and she collected presidential honour.

The new Galaxy president, Thaloganyo Morake applauded the team for their sterling performance in the two cups. He said the unwavering support from the supporters and sponsors could not be over-emphasised adding that the team’s achievement after being formed three years ago was beyond par.

The Botswana Football Association vice president, Mashlow Motlogelwa advised the sponsors to stay close to Galaxy and reap more rewards. He applauded the executive management of the team for sterling job to keep the team close to the supporters and sponsors.

“Your game with Orapa was a beautiful match and Galaxy demonstrated determination, hardwork, speed and fighting spirit. Continue with the same motivation and share one vision of uniting the fans and the team,” advised Motlogelwa.

Jwaneng Mine general manager, Albert Milton also took time to thank traditional leadership of Jwaneng and surrounding areas for their support. He said the spirit would go a long way in driving the team to achieve more.
