Botswana netball umpire fails to get game time

The Botswana Netball Association (BONA) said it could not comment on the issue as it fell under the International Netball Federation (INF).

Chetelo was the only umpire from Botswana, but was surprisingly absent from action as the nine-day competition ended on Sunday in Gaborone.

BONA president, Tebogo Lebotse-Sebego yesterday said they are unaware of the reasons that saw the umpire fail to officiate.

She referred all enquiries to the INF.

“BONA and the NWYC Local Organising Committee do not have authority to speak about the officials which is the duty of INF. It is best to communicate with INF directly because they are the right people to disclose why Chetelo failed to officiate during the games,” she said.

Chetelo was named by INF amongst other 41 technical officers to handle the Youth World Cup matches.
